"We're delighted that Sylvia has agreed to run again as the Westminster candidate for the Ulster Unionist Party at the next General Election and, with her, we are 100 per cent confident of success", commented Alan McFarland MLA, Chairman of the North Down Ulster Unionist Association after the recent selection meeting held in the Marine Court Hotel.

Speaking after her reselection, Lady Hermon said: "It has been a real privilege and honour for me to serve the people of North Down as their Member of Parliament since June 2001, and I certainly look forward to continuing in that role if successful at the forthcoming General Election.

When the people speak through the ballot-box at that time, they will have a clear choice between returning me as their conscientious and enthusiastic MP, or going into the unknown".
